Fly as High as the Sun

Questions, you say?    Hello there, I'm Jennifer.

Seventeen years old and a resident of California. High school senior with obsessive tendencies.

something i don’t understand and never will is why people don’t realize that their values are not my values and that it isn’t the government’s job to push any sort of values onto me

you want to wait until marriage (marriage is something else i have a problem with) to have sex? fine. i don’t care about your religion or your sex life so go ahead

you want to have as much sex as possible? go for it man, although do be safe in your sex life

i just don’t get why everyone wants to push their values onto everyone else

sorry, i do respect myself and i don’t care if you think i don’t. i don’t care what you think and why you think it if your intention is to push what you think onto me

if we are having a legitimate conversation on something then i will listen, like when my friend explained his opinions on marriage.

if you are telling me why i shouldn’t do something because you think it is wrong i will not listen

ugh i just hate people sometimes

really though can everyone just realize that we don’t care about you and your opinion and your values and your life

The Quietest Place on Earth Will Drive You Insane Within 45 Minutes
There’s a small room in Minnesota thatblocks out 99% of all external sound. That’s an impressive number! Also impressive: nobody can take more than 45 minutes alone in the room before they go nuts.
The Daily Mail describes Orfield Labs’ anechoic chamber—perfect for making extremely sensitive audio measurements. But also perfect for sending you into a hallucinatory hell so hellacious you’ll need a chair:
‘When it’s quiet, ears will adapt. The quieter the room, the more things you hear. You’ll hear your heart beating, sometimes you can hear your lungs, hear your stomach gurgling loudly. ‘In the anechoic chamber, you become the sound.’ And this is a very disorientating experience. Mr Orfield explained that it’s so disconcerting that sitting down is a must. He said: ‘How you orient yourself is through sounds you hear when you walk. In the anechnoic chamber, you don’t have any cues. You take away the perceptual cues that allow you to balance and manoeuvre. If you’re in there for half an hour, you have to be in a chair.’
That sounds swell. Just the serene quiet of you, your thoughts, and the unceasing pounding of the human heart. Your brain can’t take it, apparently, and begins to fabricate sounds that aren’t really there—completely delusional noises meant to block out the churning of your own horrid biomass.

I’m sorry, that doesn’t sound disorienting, it sounds heavenly.

"[F]or the first several years the SAT was offered, males scored higher than females on the Math section but females achieved higher scores on the Verbal section. ETS policy-makers determined that the Verbal test needed to be “balanced” more in favor of males, and added questions pertaining to politics, business and sports to the Verbal portion. Since that time, males have outscored females on both the Math and Verbal sections. Dwyer notes that no similar effort has been made to “balance” the Math section, and concludes that, “It could be done, but it has not been, and I believe that probably an unconscious form of sexism underlies this pattern. When females show the superior performance, ‘balancing’ is required; when males show the superior performance, no adjustments are necessary.” "

From the Feminist Majority Foundation today:

We have just 13 days to defeat North Dakota Measure 3, which will be on the state’s primary ballot June 12th. It is a state constitutional amendment that simply goes too far and could deny a woman basic medical care such as birth control. We need your help. This dangerous amendment states that “The right to act or refuse to act in a manner motivated by a sincerely held religious belief may not be burdened unless the government proves it has no compelling governmental interest…” We need your help because if this state constitutional amendment passes, it will certainly move to other states and it could have far reaching and alarming consequences:• A man could claim domestic violence or child abuse laws don’t apply to him because his religious beliefs give him the right to beat his wife and children.• An employer could deny birth control coverage or other needed medical treatment to a woman under its health plan on basis of the employer’s religious belief.• A pharmacy could refuse to fill a birth control prescription on the basis of its religious belief.
Help the campaign to defeat Measure 3 and put an end to this so-called “religious freedom” amendment that could endanger women’s health. If passed, Measure 3 will spread - we cannot allow this to happen. Say NO to 3!
